Mother/Daughter Dinner

On Wednesday we had our Mother/Daughter dinner to honor our mothers for Mother's Day.  The theme was flowers with colorful daisies everywhere.

First we made flowers with fabric and old buttons.  We picked fabric we liked out of a big bin, then cut the flowers out using a die cut machine.

The girls made flowers for their moms, and the moms made flowers for their girls, but I'm sure there was a bit of consulting going on.

The huge tub of buttons was so fun to dig through to try to find that perfect button.

Meanwhile the leaders were busy in the kitchen making the yummy sandwiches.

Look how relaxed Sis. J. looks now that she is not YW president anymore.

The girls had so much fun crafting with their moms!

Putting on the finishing touches.

Those flowers were turning out great.

We even had a grandma join us!  It was fun to have her there.

Here are a few of the darling finished flowers:

It was a beautiful evening outside, once the sun went down.  Dinner was wonderful: creamy tomato basil soup with homemade croutons and tuna pesto sandwiches.  Oh yes, and a chocolate fountain for desert!

After dinner, we had each girl get up with her mom (or grandma) and tell us which of the 8 YW values their mother was an "Example of the Believers" in, and why.  Then the moms did the same for their sweet girls.

It was really wonderful!  What great girls we have, and what great moms and grandmas they have!
