And the Award Goes To...

The Bermuda Dunes Young Women held their first ever Individual Worth Awards night.  After reading some scriptures about gifts of the spirit, we each picked a secret name of another girl or leader, then took off to the dollar store to find the perfect award to present to out special person.

Using a bucket to cleverly to hide her award from her secret person.

A nutcracker, soap, and a candle.  Hmmmm?  Wonder who get those awards?

After the awards were chosen, we all headed over to the cookie aisle for a few snacks.

Check out.  What you need to know about this picture is what you can't see.  Some of the girls got a little spray-happy with some knock-off designer fragrance.  The girls smelled ...so...well... .
A good leader would never says that her girls stink, but lets just say, my eyes were watering as we posed for this picture.  Whew!

Back at church we filled out certificates and had our awards ceremony.

The awards were, Top row, left to right: 1. A princess coloring book and markers - she is a great artist and the princess at home. 2.  a nutcracker - she makes people crack up. 3. fuzzy socks - she is warm and makes everyone feel comfortable.  4.  A flower calendar - she is as pretty on the inside as she looks on the outside. 5. glow rings - she is bright and unique.  Bottom row:  1. clown wig - she is unique and funny. 2. Barney cookies - she bakes great cookies and is sweet. 3. glue - she is the glue that holds her family and YW together.  4.  A sparkly candle holder - she has a sparkly personality and lights up the room.  And Sis. M,( the one taking the picture) was awarded a beautiful candle- the light of her testimony that warms others.

Weren't those awards just perfect?

After the ceremony, we passed around our certificates, and everybody wrote more wonderful things about each other.  We each got a little better understanding of our own individual worth and how special we each really are.
